John studied Science at the Australian National University. His Business Masters is from UWA.

His professional career started in Banking and Finance, before transitioning to Project Management, specialising in IT and Technology Projects.

He has successfully delivered projects across a range of industry sectors including: Banking, Energy, Defence, Commodities, Commercial Construction, State and Local Government.

In his current role is the Smart Cities Project Manager for City of Perth. John led a multi-disciplinary team to deliver seven projects. The 2018/2019 Federal Smart Cities grant of $1.3M is to date the largest grant received by the City of Perth. Total project spend exceeded $3M.

Based on the 2018/2019 results the City of Perth has committed to sustain and expand their Smart Cities program.
